Artist Statement
I am a dimensional metal sculpture artist who is passionate about creating unique works that are inspired by my love of bold color and various art mediums. My works have been featured in national publications such as House Beautiful, Elle Décor, and Illustrator Home Decorating. I have also worked on professional commissions for the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of American Folk Art, Design and Display at the Rockefeller NBC Building, and the Baseball Hall of Fame. I am honored to have received the Editor's Choice Award from Colonial Home Magazine.
My artistic journey began in rural Western New York where I was surrounded by unusual and interesting antique collections. My parents were antique dealers, and my early life was full of wonderful creations from earlier eras. This love of antiques has influenced my work throughout my career.
I am excited to continue creating unique dimensional works that are inspired by the beautiful colors of nature.
Blue Iris
The Blue Iris Sculpture is hypnotizing… the dimensional metal Blossoms are attached to the Wood Canvas Box and appear as they are suspended in time. Completely hand cut, formed and finished with a Rich Iris Blue Oil Paint over a translucent mild Purple to accomplish a true Iris shade. The final glazing and blossoms detail value are applied together to accentuate their unique shape. The entire metal dimensional sculpture is totally handmade in Edna’s established and renown style.

Hydrangeas in Garden
Designing and completing the “Hydrangeas in Garden”, has been an amazing adventure; All 245 metal pieces; hand cut, formed, attached before being painted! I have collected metal tools for many years, they are like old friends. When I was considering my methods for creating the “Hydrangeas in Garden”, I remembered an antique weight my father often used. With a smile I positioned the ½ Oval Iron Weight at my work area and it was just what I needed to help curve the Hydrangea Blossoms. To put the weight to good use, you tap the metal design piece with a mallet until you achieve the shape you are working toward.

Parrot Cove
My Creative Vision inspired me to create this Oil Painting, “Parrot Cove”, to convey the open freedom the cove allows the Parrot community. The Metal Sculptures are all cut, formed, and painted by hand before attaching to my Oil Painting. The Special Glazing Highlight effect, draws the viewer to visit the Cove.
